“Cortez, Motherfucker”

I’ve been thinking about this “Cortez, Motherfucker” site exhibit since finishing up the main body of work for the “A MULE” site exhibit two years ago. I wanted to expand the purview from that of a Mexican woman to an overview of the entire South and Central American drug trade, as it flows inexorably into the States. We all think, on the north side of the border, of a War on Drugs against those south of the border - but we are the assholes, we’re the people with the bottomless appetite for drugs, not them. They are merely supplying our greedy needs and we are helping to demolish their societies in return. Prohibition never works, etc. Counter-productive migration policies, etc. Death, etc. These sixteen works are just the beginning of a much larger exhibit.
